On Saturday, gents competed in the eighth Monthly Medal of the season and winner of Division 1 was Tom Inglis with a fine net 64. Graeme Cameron and Jamie Drummond were second and third respectively, both scoring net 65s.

In Division 2 scoring was excellent and Tom Rocks won on the day with a net 62 just pipping Ed Fotheringham on a countback. Tommy Davidson was third with a net 63 by virtue of a countback from Martin Baird.

On Sunday there was a fun Nine and Dine day in conjunction with the last round of the Open Championship. It was great to see Karen Fury having the round of her life winning with her best of the day net 28 added to Shane Lowry's 69 to win by four shots.

On Saturday, July 24 the club is holding a 126th anniversary celebration charity day in aid of Kidney Kids Scotland which is open to members and friends so book your times vis BRS.

STIRLINGAlmost 250 players competed last weekend in the Presidents Cup.

Scoring was exceptional again aided by the course condition and the warm summer weather.

Forty-one year-old Richard Brodie returned an 11 under par 61 to win the Presidents Cup by two strokes from Don McLeod with Allan Dudgeon and Jim Kinnear two shots further back with all four players from Division 3.

Richard - off 23 - had birdies at 2 and 16, six pars and six bogeys and had the luxury of a double bogey to finish in halfs of 42/42. Richard won Division 3 and was reduced to 18.7.

Don McLeod - off 24 - kept damage limitation to five bogeys coupled with four pars for a great inward nine of 41. Don was reduced to 19.8. And Allan Dudgeon was third playing the last six holes in level par with a great birdie at 17. Jim Kinnear lost out on the bih for third with his net 65.

Chris Seabrook won Division 2, the highlights being a birdie at the 2nd and five straight pars to finish in halfs of 41/39. Gus McKean was second with a topsyturvy front nine with birdies at 1, 2 and 4 interspersed with a six and clutch of sixes at 5, 7 and 9.

Robert Mathieson was third with a birdie at 8 and only two dropped strokes on the back nine at 12 and 18. Miller Gillespie was also on 68 losing out on the bih.

Stuart Todd returned his best medal round at Stirling with a two over par 74 (net 66) to win Division 1. He bookended his round with a brace of birdies and added an impressive 13 pars in halfs of 36/38 John Forsyth was second with birdies at 3, 4 and 13 and a double bogey at 17. Kenny Stewart maintained his recent run of good form for third with a level par back nine with birdies at 10 and 18.
