Goodwin: Brophy goal should have stood

St Mirren looked to have taken the lead in the second half when the former Killie star slammed home after Curtis Main outmuscled Charlie Mulgrew in the box. Referee Colin Steven chalked the goal off, leaving the Saints boss and the home fans livid.

Goodwin said:"I felt we had a decent goal chopped off.There was a bit of grappling at the back stick with Main and the United defender, but I'm not convinced it was a foul.

"We have to remember that it's a contact sport at the end of the day and there is going to be contact. I'm not so sure you would get a penalty the other way.

"It's too easy nowadays to chalk goals off and that's another one we've had wrongly disallowed.
