Greensill had 'extraordinary privileged' access to ministers

A long-awaited report into Greensill Capital, the collapsed financial firm that former PM David Cameron lobbied ministers for, was published yesterday.

Mr Cameron "could have been clearer" about his relationship with the financier's firm, the report said. But it found his actions were "not unlawful".

Boris Johnson had commissioned lawyer Nigel Boardman to carry out the review amid widespread criticism of Mr Cameron's lobbying activities.The report said: "It is clear from the evidence that Mr Greensill had a privileged - and sometimes extraordinarily privileged - relationship with Government."
