Improving Linelee King looks ahead of handicapper

However, I'm hopeful that I've used the correct logic to find a bet in the bet365 Handicap Chase at Ascot on Saturday. Here's how my tiny mind sees it anyway

The fact Venetia Williams didn't even bother entering Royale Pagaille in the Fleur De Lys Chase at Lingfield means she is pretty certain to run Fanion D'Estruval there instead of in the Ascot handicap.

That would make obvious sense given Fanion D'Estruval would be the only one of the top four at Lingfield not to be saddled with a 6lb penalty, while in any case she has recent Sandown winner

Farinet near the head of the market at Ascot.

However, if Fanion D'Estruval doesn't show up at Ascot, that means the weights will rise 6lb, which in turn means that Olly Murphy's Linelee King will be only 1lb out of the handicap.

Given Linelee King strongly suggested last time that he is a good 10lb ahead of his mark, that will surely tempt Murphy to run him for this £44,000 first prize rather than the £10,000 on offer to the winner of the Winter Million Handicap Chase at Lingfield on Friday.

We'll find out whether he runs there at 10am on Wednesday...
