The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1974(a) and by section 738 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894(b), and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (Parties to Convention) Order 1986 and shall come into operation on 27th January 1987.

2. In this Order "the Fund Convention" means the International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage opened for signature in Brussels on 18th December 1971(c).

3. It is hereby declared that, in relation to a State specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order, that State is a party to the Fund Convention in respect of the country specified opposite thereto in the second column of the Schedule with effect from the date of entry into force of the Convention for that State as specified in the third column of the Schedule.

4. The International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (Parties to Convention) Order 1983(d) is revoked.
