Introduction
The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy
of
Administration (LBSNAA),
located in Mussoorie, is the premier research and training institute in
administration and public policy in India. It was established in 1959,
incorporating the Indian Administrative Training School, Delhi and the lAS
Staff College, Shimla and is responsible for imparting training to the members
of
the higher civil services. The Academy offers induction-level training to
members
of
the All India Services and Central Services (Group A) in a common
Foundation Course and also Continuing Professional Training to regular recruits
of
the Indian Administrative Service (lAS). In addition, the Academy conducts
in-service training courses for middle to senior ranking members
of
the lAS and
for officers selected/promoted to the lAS from the state civil services. The
Academy also provide specialised courses, which include seminars,
conferences, and workshops, to Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), the
corporate sector and various governments both within India and abroad
according to their specific requirements. During the whole year, the training
calendar includes the Programme for Officer Trainees (OTs), In-service
Programmes, Workshops and Seminars. The Programme for OTs includes the
following courses:
• The Foundation Course - I
• The Foundation Course -II
• lAS Professional Course Phase-I
• lAS Professional Course Phase-II
• Training Programme for lAS Officers
of
17-20 years service
• Training Programme for lAS Officers
of
10-16 years service
• Training Programme for lAS Officers
of
6-9 years service
• Training Programme for lAS Officers (Promoted/Selected List)
• Workshops, Conferences and Seminars
