Abdulahi Shire

Abdulahi Shire sparked an international manhunt after he was involved in a group attack which resulted in a father-of-two being stabbed to death.

The victim, Zakir Nawaz, was the passenger in a Fiat 500 when another vehicle drove into it and then failed to stop in Washwood Heath on September 10, 2016.

The 21-year-old then went searching for the offending car which resulted in a street fight that spilled on to Highfield Road, where he sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest.

Shire was part of the attacking group. The 25-year-old, of no fixed address, fled the scene but was tracked down to an apartment block in Oslo, Norway. Earlier this year he went on trial for murder but the judge ruled there was not enough evidence to prove he was the man holding the knife.

Shire admitted manslaughter and was jailed for six years and 10 months.
