Kate Middleton and Prince William's very competitive marriage and his confession to a Wimbledon legend that he just can't beat her at tennis

Back in March during their disastrous Caribbean tour, the pair took each other on as part of competing sailing crews, William's crew won the race a whopping five minutes ahead of Kate, something which won't have sat well with the Duchess who was a keen competitor throughout her school days and excelled as a sailor

In the past, William has half-joked that "there's no chivalry in sport" while the Duchess admitted she "really wanted to beat" her husband after the two took each other on, back in a 2011 boat race in Canada. William triumphed. In 2018 Kate was left looking crestfallen when she was once again bested in a hockey penalty shootout in Sweden despite being school hockey captain back in the day.

The pair have also tried out other sports too, such as in 2017 when they made an appearance at a London Marathon training session and both were trumped by Prince Harry in a friendly sprint, or in 2019 when on a tour of Pakistan the two had a go at cricket, William hitting a six while Kate was caught out twice.

There is one sport though that Kate remains undisputed champ in throughout the couple's long-running sporting rivalry, tennis. The Duchess is well-known to be a very handy tennis player and has a keen interest...
