CIMA has presented Dame Mary Keegan, Former head of the Accounting Standards Board, with a special lifetime achievement award for services to the accountancy profession.

The accolade, given at the Government Finance Profession Awards, recognised Keegan's efforts to establish world-class financial management in the civil service.

"She has been an inspirational force in the drive to embed value for money into the mindset of government departments," said Ray Perry, director of brand at CIMA.

The institute has worked closely with HM Treasury to promote best practice in financial management. It sponsored the awards to mark the 25th anniversary of the government finance profession. Two CIMA members and a passed finalist also...
