Kenya Divorces (Validity) Act, 1922

(12 & 13 Geo. 5.) CHAPTER 10.

An Act to make provision with respect to the validity of Decrees granted in the Kenya Colony and Protectorate for the dissolution of the marriage of persons domiciled in the United Kingdom.

B E it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

S-1 Validity of decrees.

1 Validity of decrees.

1. Any decree granted or made absolute by a court of competent jurisdiction in the Kenya Colony and Protectorate, under the provisions of the ordinance of that Colony and Protectorate known as the Divorce Ordinance, 1904, for the dissolution of a marriage the parties to which were at the time of the commencement of the proceedings domiciled in the United Kingdom, and any order made by any such court in relation to any such decree, shall, if the proceedings were commenced before the passing of this Act, be as valid and be deemed always to have been as valid in all respects as though the parties to the marriage had been domiciled in the said Colony and Protectorate.
