The Legal Advice and Assistance (Financial Conditions) (No. 2) Regulations 1982

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 4 and 20 of the Legal Aid Act 1974(a), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Advice and Assistance (Financial Conditions) (No. 2) Regulations 1982 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1982.

2. For the sum of £40 specified in section 4(2) of the Legal Aid Act 1974(b), there shall be substituted the sum of £44.

3. For the sums specified in Schedule 3 to the Legal Advice and Assistance Regulations (No. 2) 1980(c), there shall be substituted the following sums:—

Exceeding £44 but not exceeding £53 a week .. £ 5
                Exceeding £53 but not exceeding £57 a week .. £12
                Exceeding £57 but not exceeding £61 a week .. £16
                Exceeding £61 but not exceeding £65 a week .. £21
                Exceeding £65 but not exceeding £69 a week .. £25
                Exceeding £69 but not exceeding £73 a week .. £29
                Exceeding £73 but not exceeding £77 a week .. £34
                Exceeding £77 but not exceeding £81 a week .. £38
                Exceeding £81 but not exceeding £85 a week .. £42
                Exceeding £85 but not exceeding £89 a week .. £47
                Exceeding £89 but not exceeding £93 a week .. £51
