Liverpool are reported to be one of three “front-runners” to land Borussia Monchengladbach’s Zakaria this month.

ESPN have claimed that the Reds, alongside German sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, are the clubs that have made the “most serious” approaches for the 25-year-old.

With Zakaria only having six months remaining on his current contract, it is said that Gladbach are open to letting the Swiss international leave this month to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

The report goes on to state that the holding midfielder is ready to move on from the side he joined in 2017, with Manchester United and Juventus having also allegedly held talks with the player.

However the ECHO understands that the Reds have no interest in the midfielder as things stand.
