1.
An
Act
to
empower the London County Council

acquire lands
to
amend the law relating
to
employment agencies and lying-in homes and
for other purposes. [28th July

it
is expedient that the London County
Council (hereinafter referred to
as
the Council
”)
shoulcl be empowexxl
to
acquire compulsorily the lands
described in this Act

situate in the Strand in the city
of Westminster and in Chiirch Street and High Street
Notting Hill in the

borough
of
Kensington
:
And whereas the fees receivable
by
district surveyors
under or in pursuance
of
the Loidon Building Acts 1894
to
1920
do
not furnish under existing conditions an
adequate
scde
of
remuneration and it
is
expedient that
the Council
should
be
empowered to increase such fees
and
that such other provisions with respect
to
such fees
as
are in this Act contained should he enacted
