London tourist fuming as £380-a-night hotel room with view of Tower Bridge 'wasn't even close' to advert

He’d anticipated a ‘floor-to-ceiling outlook’ in his room, as the photos showed an idyllic view of the city’s monument. The promo pictures also displayed fresh flowers on the coffee table and desk, and patterned cushions

But after checking in and seeing the reality, Jerone took to Twitter to share what his room actually looked like, alongside a promo photo. In reality, an outside wall extends halfway up the windows and a total lack of Tower of London, there was a different coffee table, no patterned cushions, and the flowers were missing.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “Why is a UK Hotel Tower Suites LDN allowed to get away with bad product misrepresentation on websites When asked, was told “you got the room you booked” #gaslighting.”

He told MailOnline Travel: “I wasn't expecting a super view. What I expected was an outlook – floor-to-ceiling windows.

“What we got was a wall covering most of the outlook. It felt really claustrophobic.”

He paid £1,136 for a three-night stay at the hotel in a ‘One-Bedroom Apartment’, but ended up being upgraded to one of their ‘Signature Suites’ after checking in. Jerone told MailOnline Travel he moved room twice after making complaints, the second and third rooms were both another one-bedroom apartment, again with a wall blocking his view.

However, the Blue Orchid Hotels Twitter account responded to Jerone’s claim, saying: “Pictures on our website are for reference purpose only and rooms are not all identical, including the view. We understand when you expressed your dissatisfaction with the room provided, the staff made every endeavour to assist and to address your concerns.
