Londoner on £30k 'becoming unhealthy' as they barely leave the house and only eat basic food

Responding to a Reddit post asking whether people are considering leaving London due to the latest extremely high estimate for the energy price cap, the concerned Reddit user wrote: "The price rises of everything without my salary increasing are fing up my life. I am becoming very unhealthy and I'm scared for the next price rise. Trying to think of something smart to heat my home for winter. Maybe clad all the walls with blankets."

The original post's author wrote: "If you haven't seen the latest estimated energy bill price hike in the article below, it makes for grim reading. I'm on a half decent salary, but even I'm thinking that maybe it's time to relocate before the end of the year and save money in other areas, such as rent."

"What is going to happen to people earning less than £30k" they asked. "Rents in London are going up, yet wages aren't."

The comments filled quickly with Londoners detailing their situation and their plans to move out. One Londoner said they had found a job in a cheaper town nearby that comes with accommodation.
