-PFIZER BUYS STAKE IN DUTCH DRUGMAKER AM-PHARMA

US drugmaker Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) has acquired a minority equity interest in Dutch biopharmaceutical company AMâ[euro]Pharma B.V. and secured an exclusive option to acquire the remaining equity in the company, the company said. AMâ[euro]Pharma is focused on the preclinical and clinical development of recAP (recombinant Human Alkaline Phosphatase) as a treatment of acute kidney injury, ulcerative colitis, and hypophosphatasia.

-TOWERS WATSON ACQUIRES HEALTHCARE SOFTWARE FIRM ACCLARIS FOR USD 140M

US-based professional services company Towers Watson (NASDAQ: TW) has acquired US-based healthcare software provider Acclaris, the company said. The purchase price is USD 140m, with the acquisition anticipated to have no impact on Towers Watson's investor guidance in fiscal year 2015. Acclaris' calendar year 2015 revenues are expected to be approximately USD 35m. Acclaris is a provider of software-as-a-service -based technology and services for consumer-driven health care and reimbursement accounts, including health savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements and other consumer directed accounts.

-STARTEK TO ACQUIRE BUSINESS PROCESS OUTSOURCING FIRM ACCENT FOR USD 16M

US-based business process outsourcing services firm StarTek, Inc. (NYSE: SRT) has entered into a definitive agreement with MDC Partners to acquire Accent Marketing Services, L.L.C for USD 16m, the company said. Accent is a business process outsourcing company providing contact center services and customer engagement solutions across six locations in the US and Jamaica. The company has 18 clients from several industries, including telecom, technology, retail, financial services and consumer products. Combined with Accent's 2,300 employees, StarTek will have more than 50 clients and over 14,000 employees operating in five countries.

-CONSTRUCTION SOFTWARE FIRM BUILDERMT SEES 'SURGE OF INTEREST' FOLLOWING ACQUISITION

US-based home building software provider BuilderMT has seen a surge of interest and sales activity following the recent acquisition of BuilderMT by MiTek, the company said. In April US-based holding company Berkshire Hathaway Co.'s (NYSE: brk-a) MiTek Industries residential construction software and technology subsidiary BuilderMT for an undisclosed amount. According to BuilderMT, range of viable options for software solutions for home builders has become limited, and BuilderMT is increasingly recognised as the leading enterprise-class workflow solution built for mid-market home builders.

-FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS CLEARS US ANTITRUST HURDLE IN ACQUISITION OF VERIZON OPERATIONS

US-based lecommunications company Frontier Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: FTR) TODAY announced that the Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the required waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 with respect to Frontier's proposed acquisition of Verizon's (NYSE: VZ) wireline operations in three US states, the company said. The definitive agreement between Frontier and Verizon was announced 5 February 2015. In the deal, Frontier will acquire Verizon's wireline operations that provide services to residential, commercial and wholesale customers in California, Florida and Texas, for USD 10.54bn in cash, the company said.

-US HEALTHCARE IT FIRMS HEALTHPORT, IOD TO MERGE

US-based healthcare IT companies HealthPort and IOD have agreed to merge, the companies said. The proposed merger, facilitated by an investment from New Mountain Capital, will create a new company with combined revenues of more than USD 450m and 6,000 professionals serving approximately 18,000 healthcare facilities across the US.

-AAC TECHNOLOGIES ACQUIRES RF CHIPMAKER WISPRY

Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturer AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. (HKEx: 02018), has closed its acquisition of US-based RF semiconductor maker WiSpry, Inc., the company said. WiSpry is in high-performance tunable radio frequency semiconductor products for the wireless industry and a pioneer of RF micro-electro-mechanical systems solutions, with products relating to antenna tuning and filters for mobile devices.

-AUTO AIR FRESHENER FIRM HANDSTANDS ACQUIRES LEXOL BRAND

US-based private investment firm Trivest Partners' US-based American Covers Inc. (d/b/a: "HandStands") automotive air freshener products affiliate has acquired the IP rights and substantially all of the assets of the Lexol brand from Summit Industries, the firm said. Lexol offers more than 30 leather care products for home and auto use.
