The Marriage Fees (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1983

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 3(1) and 25, as read with section 26, of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977(a) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, and with the approval of the Secretary of State, I hereby make the following regulations:—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Marriage Fees (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1983 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1984.

2. In regulation 3(1) of the Marriage Fees (Scotland) Regulations 1982(b), for the sum "£3" there shall be substituted the sum "£3.25".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Marriage Fees (Scotland) Regulations 1982 so as to increase from £3.00 to £3.25, with effect from 1st April 1984, the fee payable by each person who submits a marriage notice under section 3 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977.
