Cattle forward this week were very much short in supply. A dear trade was seen for what was sold. All buyers keen on beef at present, there is high demand and low supply. It is a good position for those of you currently trading beef.

Prime lambs 1611 A cracking show of lambs forward, this week again and prices to match for all breeds sold. Many Suffolk (ex-mule) lambs forward as well as several large consignments of pet lambs.

Having said all this the average weight was 45kg and a fantastic market of average of 272p kg was achieved to a ring side of seven buyers operating for

firms the length and breadth of the UK leaving those who attended extremely pleased with Acklington's trade. See you all next week.

Leading the lamb trade this week was a fantastic pen of Beltex x Texel lambs that realised £123 weighing 40kg and 308pkg consigned by locals Messers Younger & Stamp of Watch Hill Fm. The lambs were purchased by Mr Ben Gray of Harrogate for West Scottish Lamb, Carlisle.

Leading the price £ per head class today was the Brown family from West Lane End realising £150 for a pen of powerful Texel's, they were purchased by Mr J Curle of Bowsden.

Cast Sheep - Jimmy Fawcett Ewes witnessed a serios trade with the lead up to the festival and many more could have been sold to the seller's advantage. Topping today was Pallinsburn Estate with a pure Texel which sold to Ben Grey for £150.

Mule ewes also looked a nice trade topping at £116 and horned ewes topping at
