Prime Sheep Prime Lambs More sheep forward on the week and an improved show with not as many leaner lambs. All classes were easily sold and the average 8p up on the week. Top price for a massive Suffolk cross lamb from Flotterton £150. Beltex crosses to 297.6p from East Wharmley.

Another big show of lambs forward with many strong fleshed lambs realising over the £100 mark. Long keep lambs look worth a gamble with many averaging around the £70 mark.

Topping the sale regular consignors, the Beveridge's from Low House Farm were well rewarded for their 70-mile trip from Tow Law to sell Beltex lambs to £131.

North East Livestock Sales held its fortnightly store sale in conjunction with the final herd dispersal from the Aynsley family, Lee Farm, Longframlington. The Aynsley's cattle were shown in tremendous condition which must be said credit to Susan, Michael and stockman Tim for all their hard work in preparing the cattle for this sale.

With an extremely well represented sale from both local and distance buyers, the Aynsley's cattle found new homes from as far away as the Midlands and Yorkshire.

Forward at the weekly prime stock sale this week was 51 head of prime cattle and Cast cows, 2023 prime sheep comprising 1612 Lambs and 411 Cast Sheep.

Trade for cattle on the day looked to somewhat dearer than the previous sale.

With cattle short in supply, firms looking for beef had to step forward and from the off. Great trade, more required.

Lead grossing steer was a Char x from Michael and William Davy, Warton realising £1808 to Mick Etherington, Bingley, Yorkshire. Lead grossing steer P/Per Kg was a lim x from David and Andrew Telfer, Make Me Rich realising 248p to Bill Howard on behalf of Thompson's Whitton Le Wear.

Lead grossing heifer was a Char x from Roy and Nigel Dods, Brandon White House realising £1589 to George Chapman, Carlisle.

Lead grossing heifer P/Per Kg was a Lim X from David and Andrew Telfer, Make Me Rich realising 270p to Mick Etherington, Bingley, Yorkshire.
