CHAPTER clvi.
An Act to confirm certain Provisional Orders of
A.D.
1930.
the Minister of Health relating to Cardiff
Stoke-on-Trent and Worthing.

HEEEAS under the provisions of the Public
38 &
39 Vict.
Health Act 1875 the Minister of Health has made °- 55-
certain provisional orders which need confirmation by
Parliament:
Be it therefore enacted by the King's most Excellent
Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the
Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons in this
present Parliament assembled and by the authority of
the same as follows :
1.
The Orders of the Minister of Health which are Orders in
set out in the schedule to this Act are hereby confirmed schedule
and shall have fuU validity and force. confirmed.
2.
This Act may be cited as the Ministry of Health Short title.

SCHEDULE.
Cardiff
Order.
CITY OF CARDIFF.
Provisional Order to enable the Cardiff Corporation to
put into force the compulsory clauses of the Lands
Clauses Acts.

WHEREAS the lord mayor aldermen and citizens of the city
of Cardiff acting by the council (in this order referred to as " the
Corporation") require to purchase and take the lands described
in the schedule to this order for the purposes of widening opening
enlarging or otherwise improving the street known as Cowbridge
Road in the city of Cardiff in pursuance of their powers under
section 154 of the Public Health Act 1875 and section 83 of the
Public Health Act 1925 :
Now therefore the Minister of Health in pursuance of the
powers given to him by section 176 of the Public Health Act
1875 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby
orders as follows :
1.
For the purposes recited in this order the Corporation
may put in force with reference to the -lands described in the
schedule to this order (subject to the continuance of existing
public rights of highway if any) all or any of the powers of the
Lands Clauses Acts as modified by the Acquisition of Land
(Assessment of Compensation) Act 1919 with respect to the
purchase and taking of lands otherwise than by agreement.
2.—(1) This order may be cited as the Cardiff Order 1930
and shall come into operation on the date of the Act of Parliament
confirming it.
(2) In the schedule to this order "the deposited plan"
means the plan which was deposited for the purposes of this
order in the Office of the Minister of Health on the sixth day
of May nineteen hundred and thirty of which duplicates were on
the same day deposited in the Office of the Clerk of the Parlia-
ments House of Lords and in the Committee and Private Bill
Office of the House of Commons.
