MONOPOLIES COMMISSION

The Monopolies Commission (Appointed Day) Order, 1956

The Board of Trade, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon them by subsection (6) of section 28 of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1956(a), hereby make the following order:—

1. The date on which section 28 of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1956 (which provides for the reconstitution of the Monopolies and Restrictive Practices Commission under the title of the Monopolies Commission) shall come into operation is the 31st day of October, 1956.

2.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Monopolies Commission (Appointed Day) Order, 1956.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889(b), applies for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament and as if this Order were an Act of Parliament.
