confer further powers upon the Neath Pontardawe

and Brynaman Railway Company
for
the construction
of
railways
to
authorise the Company to raise additional
capital and for other purposes. [Ilth August

HEREAS by the Neath Pontardawe and Brynaman Railway
W
Act 189.5 (hereinafter called “the Act
of
1895
”)
the X’eath
Pontardawe and Brynaman Railway Company (hereinafter called
(‘
the Company
”)
was
incorporated and empowered
to
construct
certain railways in the county of Glamorgan
to
be called the Neath
Pontardnwe and Brynaman Railway
:
And whereas by the Neath Pontardawe and Brynaman Railway
Act 1896 (hereinafter called
‘‘
the Act
of
1896
”)
the Company and
the Great Western 12ailway Company were authorised
to
enter into
agreements for the working
of
the Coiuipany’s railways and works
for
the time being by the Great Western Railway Company
:
And whereas by the Neath Pontardawe and Brynaman Railway
Act.
1898
(hereinafter called
“
the Act of 1398
”)
the Company
was empowered to construct additional railways in the county
of
Glamorgan and
to
raise additional capital and the powers of the
Company for the compuleory purchase and taking of lands for and
for
the construction
of
the railways authorised by the Act of 1895
were extended
:
And whereas the ,Company has not constructed any part
of
the railways authorised by the Act
of
1895 and their powers for
constructing the same have expired and
it
is expedient that those
Powers should be revived
or
renewed and that the Company should
be authorised to make and maintain the said railways (being
the

hereinafter described) as shown upon the deposited plans
and sections thereof hereinafter referred

And whereas it is expedient that the powers of the Company
for
the compulsory purchase of the lands required for the railways
authorised by the Act
of
1898
shoiild
be revived and
that
the peri-od
allowed
for
the completion
of
those railwavs should be extended
:
And whereas
it
is expedient that the Company should
be
authorised
to
construct the additional railways hereinafter described
(being the Railways

Glamorgan and to raise additional capital
as
by this Act provided
:
And whereas
it
is
expedient that the Company and any company
or
persons for the time being working
or
using the railways of the
Company should be empowered to run
over
and use the railways
parts
of
railways and stations of the other companies hereinafter in
that behalf mentioned
:
And whereas plans and sections showing the lines and levels
of
the railways authorised
by
this Act and also
a
book
of reference
to the plans containing the names of the owners and lessees
or
reputed owners and lessees and of the occupiers of the lands which
may be taken for the purposes
OF
iinder the
powers
of this Act
were duly deposited with the clerk of the peace for the coiinty
of Glamorgan and those plans sections and book
of
reference are
hereinafter respectively referred to
as
the deposited plans sections
and book
of
reference
:
,4nd whereas the purposes
of
this Act cannot be effected
without the authority of Parliament
:
May it therefore please Your Majesty that
it
may be enacted
and be it enacted
by
the King’s most Thcellent Majesty by and
with the advice and consent of the
Lords
Spiritual and Temporal
and Commons in this present Parliament assembled and by the
authority
of
the same
as
follows (that is to say)

This Act niay be cited for all purposes
as
the Neath
Pontarclawe and Brynaman Railway Act
