The Official Secrets (Penang and Malacca) Order in Council, 1950

Present,

The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas the Legislature of the Federation of Malaya has by the Official Secrets Ordinance, 1950, made provisions which appear to His Majesty to be of the like effect as those contained in the Official Secrets Acts, 1911 to 1939(c), and it is accordingly expedient under the powers conferred by Section 11 of the Official Secrets Act, 1911(a), to suspend the operation of the said Acts in the parts of the Federation in which they are now in force, namely the Settlements of Penang and Malacca;

(a) 1 & 2 Geo. 5. c. 28.

(b) 10 & 11 Geo. 5. c. 75.

(c) 1 & 2 Geo. 5. c. 28; 10 & 11 Geo. 5. c. 75; 2 & 3 Geo. 6. c. 121.

Now, therefore, His Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers by the Official Secrets Act, 1911, or otherwise in His Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Official Secrets (Penang and Malacca) Order in Council, 1950.

2. The operation in the Settlements of Penang and Malacca of the Official Secrets Acts, 1911 to 1939, is hereby suspended so long as the Official Secrets Ordinance, 1950, of the Federation of Malaya continues in force in the...
