The Parliamentary Commissioner Order 1987

Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 5(4) of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 19671, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary Commissioner Order...

1. This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary Commissioner Order 1987 and shall come into force on 6th May 1987.

S-2 Paragraph 8 of Schedule 3 to the Parliamentary Commissioner...

2. Paragraph 82of Schedule 3 to the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967 shall be amended in the following respects–

(a) the word “or”, in the second place where it occurs, shall be deleted; and

(b) after the words “the Rampton Hospital Board,” there shall be inserted the words “the Broadmoor Hospital Board or the Moss Side and Park Lane Hospitals Board,”.

This Order further amends Schedule 3 to the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967, which sets out matters which are not subject to investigation by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration, so as to exclude from the provisions of that Schedule any action taken on behalf of the Secretary of State for Social Services by the Broadmoor Hospital Board and the Moss Side and Park Lane Hospitals Board.


(2) Paragraph 8 was amended by the National Health Service Reorganisation Act 1973 (c. 32), section 57(1) and Schedule 4, paragraph 109 (section 57(1) was repealed with savings by the National Health Service Act 1977 (c. 49), section 129, Schedule 14, paragraph 13(1)(b) and Schedule 16); the Health Services Act 1980 (c. 53), Schedule 1, paragraph 16; and by S.I.1981/736 and 1986/1168.
