The Police (Discipline) (Amendment) Regulations 1974

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 33 of the Police Act 1964(a), and after consulting the Police Council for the United Kingdom in accordance with section 4(4) of the Police Act 1969(b), I hereby make the following Regulations:—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police (Discipline) (Amendment) Regulations 1974.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 30th December 1974 and shall have effect as from 1st April 1974.

2. In Regulation 17(2) of the Police (Discipline) Regulations 1965(c), as amended (d), for the words "or special area undermanning allowance" there shall be substituted the words "special area undermanning allowance or London allowance".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Police (Discipline) Regulations 1965 and include a London allowance among the allowances which a member of a Police force who is suspended is entitled to receive. The Regulations have effect from 1 April 1974 (the date from which London allowances were reintroduced by the Police (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1974—S.I. 1974/1973).
