Colin Duffy, 41, of KimmeterWynd, pleaded guilty to seven charges at Dumfries Sheriff Court

He admitted that on November 7, 2020 at Shawhill Road he demanded allegedly stolen money to be handed over, made threats to a woman and her mother, who is now dead, and threatened to stab them.

Duffy also attacked the younger woman and repeatedly punched her on the head and body, pushed her to the floor, sat astride her then seized her by the neck and applied pressure restricting her breathing all to her injury and danger of life.

He also admitted going to the woman's door the next day, November 8, with an accomplice, Findlay Mackay, 22, of Howgill Brae, Annan.

They entered the property at Shawhill Road uninvited before demanding the return of allegedly stolen money from the younger woman.

Duffy then shouted and swore at police officers during a journey between Annan and Dumfries Police Station before threatening them and their families with violence.

He admitted breaking bail conditions on April 21 last year by failing to remain at his home address in Kimmeter Wynd between the hours of 8pm and 7am by failing to answer the door to police.

Duffy also pleaded guilty to having a Stanley knife on him on May 3 last year at a grassy area betweenTurnberry Road andTurnberry Crescent, Annan, and while on bail.

Mackay pleaded guilty to breaching a bail condition to remain at his home address between 8pm and 5.30am by failing to answer the door to police officers on December 7.

And he failed to comply with the bail order again on December 16.

Duffy's final charge was breaking his curfew on January 14 by failing to answering the door to police while ordered to remain in his home...
