Head coach Ceri Jones and his side have prepared to face Ponty on a couple of occasions for it not to happen pre- Christmas.

RGC's Danny Cross said: "For the players the job is really clear, we win and we go through, so really this has a cup knockout feel to it already.

"It's been a mixed bag for us in 2022, and we know that we need to raise our game.

"It was a close-run match last time at Ponty, as they edged the win so we expect another close one this week. With that in mind, it is about making sure we do the basics right and put ourselves in a position to win.

"It will be good to get the crowds back fully, and hopefully, we can get a good number cheering us.

"It's a chance to get into the quarter-final and then you are a couple of wins away from a cup final, which is a huge incentive."
