Refusal of interim adoption order - Whether appeal lies from county court -Adoption of Children Act (Northern Ireland),1950.
An application to the county court for an interim adoption order was refused on the ground that the child's parents had revoked their consent to the adoption. The petitioners sought to bring an appeal by way of re-hearing to the High Court. Held, that the type of appeal sought to be pursued by the petitioners did not lie, and that the only appeal from a county court in adoption proceedings was on a question of law under section 31 (1) of the Adoption of Children Act (Northern Ireland), 1950.
