REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES ETC.ENGLAND AND WALES
The Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1995

Coming into force 1st April 1995
The Registrar General in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5, 9(5), 10(1), 10A(1), 11(1)(b) and 39 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 19531as extended by section 26(3) of the Welsh Language Act 19932and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, with the approval3of the Secretary of State for Wales4, hereby makes the following Regulations—
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st April 1995.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) Regulations 19875.
Substitution of forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations
2. For forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations (prescribed forms)6there shall be substituted respectively the forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in the Schedule to these Regulations.
Revocation of regulation 9 of the principal Regulations
3. Regulation 9 of the principal Regulations (discrepancies) is hereby revoked.

The forms prescribed for the registration of live births and still-births and their associated declarations, the declaration and statement for the re-registration of a birth and the form of certificate of registration of birth are amended so as to delete any reference to an NHS number, to insert a specific reference to the occupation of the mother and to make other minor...
