REGISTRATION OF POLITICAL PARTIES
The Registration of Political Parties (Access to the Register) Regulations 1998
Made 21th November 1998
Laid before Parliament 30th November 1998
Coming into force 14th January 1999
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Registration of Political Parties Act 19981hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Political Parties (Access to the Register) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 14th January 1999.
2. The registrar shall keep the register open to inspection by any person on payment of a fee of £5 at the Information Centre, Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff, during the hours when that Centre is open to the public.
3.—(1) The registrar shall, on request and on payment of a fee of £20, provide a copy of the register.
(2) The registrar shall, on request and on payment of a fee of £5 for each party to which the request relates, provide a copy of the entry in the register in respect of any such party.
(3) Where the register includes an index to the names of all the parties registered in it, the registrar shall, on request and on payment of a fee of £5, provide a copy of that index.

These Regulations provide for access to the register of political parties which is maintained under section 1 of the Registration of Political Parties Act 1998. Regulation 2 provides for inspection of the register on payment of the prescribed fee. Regulation 3 provides for the provision of copies of the whole or part of the register on payment of the prescribed fee.
