Transforming justice and guidance about CJS and its
purpose
Reframing Crime and Justice – A Handy Guide is a document offering ways to
explain the CJS in a positive and constructive way. The document identifies ways of
reflecting on the work of justice and its purpose to help engage people in the justice
debate and challenge myths and beliefs about crime and punishment that can
deflect away from the rehabilitative and purposeful alternatives to custody within the
justice system. The document is free to download. The site includes other documents
available to download for free including: New Narratives: Changing the Frame on
Crime and Justice; and The Sentencing Council for England and Wales: Brake or
Accelerator on the Use of Prison? The documents are available from: Transform
Justice www.transformjustice.org.uk

Practice: The New Zealand Corrections Journal was launched in 2013 to promote
good practice and encourage professionalism. The journal provides in-depth,
academic and practice-focused articles and would be of interest to those
working with offenders and criminal justice. The articles have a focus on
practice in New Zealand and cover a wide variety of practice issues. Recent
copy has included papers on innovations in reducing re-offending, trauma-
focused practice with women in prison, mental health, long-serving prisoners,
and building relationships with young offenders. The journal is publicly funded
