Commonwealth Bank has announced inspirational Australian football star, Sam Kerr, as an official brand ambassador.

The news follows the commencement of Commonwealth Bank's game-changing partnership with Football Australia. The bank is now the naming rights partner of the Commonwealth Bank Matildas, Commonwealth Bank Young Matildas and Commonwealth Bank Junior Matildas, injecting millions of dollars into the elite women's game and grassroots initiatives across the country over the next four years.

Sam Kerr, widely acknowledged as one of the world's best players, recently enjoyed a memorable campaign in Tokyo. The striker became the Commonwealth Bank Matildas' all-time leading scorer as the team achieved its best-ever finish at the women's football tournament, and now has 48 international goals at the age of just 27.

Ms Kerr said that Commonwealth Bank's long-standing support for women's sport made the alignment an obvious fit with her own desire to inspire the next generation of Australian girls.
