Schofield: We will get things back on track

The Terriers head into today's visit from Stoke City (3pm) off the back of three successive defeats, with their 4-1 loss to Preston North End in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening still all too fresh in the minds of supporters

But Town's players and staff need to put that result to one side and focus on getting a result against Michael O'Neill's side, knowing it might only take that first win to get their season up and running.

The head coach said: "It's important to move on quickly from those defeats. Those moments it's always emotional for players and coaches but you have to move on quickly and prepare for the next game because they come thick and fast.

"It's reflecting and looking at the individual needs of the players," he added when asked if he had given the squad a few choice words about their performances.

"Everybody reacts differently to losses and wins so it's reflecting and analysing how to feed back to the players, what kind of way you do that, what's going to have the most impact in order to try and change things quickly.

"I don't think it's from a player's lack of trying. Whatever it is - is it a confidence thing, are they just not on their game? It's why football is so beautiful...
