Caroline Kerr, 42, from Cleland, was nominated by Kerrie Coyle for our Say It With Flowers award for being "inspirational" to both her family and friends and a "wonderful" mum.

Mum-of-three Caroline attended Dalziel High School, and after leaving school went on to study a catering course at Motherwell College, and began her career by working in a number of catering kitchens, before settling down and raising her family. She then worked as a bar person in The Corner in Wishaw, and latterly, as a manager in The Cottage in Newarthill, before she was forced to give up work due to ill health.

Kerry said: "My mum was training to be a chef at Motherwell College. She had a couple of jobs in kitchens until me and my brothers, Steven and Aaron came along, and then she started bar work. This year has been terrible for her because of how ill she is, but she's an inspiration to us all. My mum is an amazing lady and is the strongest person I know."

She received a devastating blow after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, but despite this continues to devote her life to caring for her youngest son, who has severe autism.
