Held just off the High Street in a dedicated outdoor space by family run business, The Courtyard - as an added attraction to their key cutting, shoe repairs and sales of handmade leather items, quilting fabrics, knitting yarn and haberdashery - it gives an outlet to local crafters, makers and producers

So far this year the local crafters market made an appearance once each in February and last month and during April it took place on the second and fourth weekends from 10am to 4pm.

From May it will be staged on the first and third weekends of each month and organisers are keen to hear from any local producers who want to take part to call 01461 202108.

Among the stallholders on Saturday were members of Annan Academy's Bee Club.

The youngsters are keen to encourage more people to grow wild flowers to help bees and other insects.

They were giving away free seeds they had collected themselves as part of their Royal Society research project with a clear message to "help improve the health of our important pollinators".
