Sixth person on murder charge over stabbing

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named as he is a youth, appeared in Leeds Magistrates Court on yesterday morning in relation to 20-year-old Mr Gledhill's death.

Mr Gledhill was stabbed on Park Croft in Batley at around 10.30pm on Sunday, June 21. He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. Two other males also suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries that night.

The 17-year-old, who is from Batley, is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He had his case sent to Leeds Crown Court. He is due to appear at that court on November 30 and was remanded in custody until then.
