The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 17(1)(a) and 36(9)(b) of the Social Security Act 1975 (a), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement with the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals to make these regulations should not be referred to it (b), hereby makes the following regulations:—

Citation and commencement

1. These regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Sickness and Invalidity Benefit and Non-Contributory Invalidity Pension) Regulations 1982, and shall come into operation on 22nd November 1982.

Amendment of the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations 1975

2. Regulation 3 of the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations 1975 (c) (persons deemed to be incapable of work) shall be further amended by the substitution, in paragraph (3), for "£16.50" of "£20".

Amendment of the Social Security (Non-Contributory Invalidity Pension) Regulations 1975

3. Regulation 12 of the Social Security (Non-Contributory Invalidity Pension) Regulations 1975 (d) (disqualification for non-contributory invalidity pension) shall be further amended by the substitution, in paragraph (d)(iii), for "£16.50" of "£20".

Revocations

4. Regulations 3 and 4 of the Social Security Benefit Up-rating Regulations 1981 (e) are hereby revoked.
