An Act to enable the South Wales Mineral Rail-
way Company to grant a Lease of their Under-
taking, [25th May 1855.]

HEREAS an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament 16 & 17.vicfc-
c» cxcviit
held in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Years of the Reign
of Her present Majesty, called " The South Wales Mineral
Railway Act,
1853,"
whereby a Company was incorporated by the
Name of " The South Wales Mineral Railway Company," for the
making of a Railway from the South Wales Railway to Glyncorrwg
in Glamorganshire, with a Branch Railway to the Forchdwm Colliery:
And whereas the said Railway traverses a very important. Coal
District, in which a Company trading under the Name of the
Glyncorrwg Coal Company are very largely interested, under
Contracts for Mines for Ninety-nine Years, and it would be attended
with Advantage to that Company, as well as to the Railway Company
and to the Public, that the Management and Working of the South
Wales Mineral Railway should be conducted by the said Glyncorrwg
Coal Company, and it is expedient, therefore, that the Railway
Company should have Power to grant a Lease of their Undertaking
to such other Company; but they cannot do so without the Authority
of Parliament: May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be
enacted; and be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty,
by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and
