Southern California Edison, the largest subsidiary of public utility holding company Edison International, has chosen US-based energy technology solutions company Generac Grid Services, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems (NYSE: GNRC), as one of the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) providers for the company's Power Flex program.
This move is intended to allow Southern California Edison residential customers to extend the value and return on investment of their residential solar PV and battery storage systems by enrolling them in a VPP aimed to alleviate pressure on the power grid during times of peak demand.
