CHAPTER xiii
An Act to authorise the sale of the churchyard appurtenant
to the former church of Saint Peter Upper Thames
Street otherwise Paul's Wharf in the city of London to
authorise the erection of buildings thereon and for other
purposes. [2nd June I960.]

HEREAS the ancient church of Saint Peter Upper Thames
Street otherwise Paul's Wharf in the city of London
(hereinafter called " the church ") was destroyed in the
Great Fire of London in the year sixteen hundred and sixty-six
and was not rebuilt:
And whereas by virtue of a reorganisation scheme for the
city of London made under the Reorganisation Areas Measure
1944 and coming into force on the second day of February
nineteen hundred and fifty-four the former parish of Saint Peter
Upper Thames Street otherwise Paul's Wharf now forms part
of the parish of Saint Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe with Saint Ann
Blackfriars and the freehold of the churchyard appurtenant to
the church is now vested in the incumbent of the benefice of
Saint Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe with Saint Ann Blackfriars and
the present incumbent thereof is the Reverend Victor Chalmers
Morton:
And whereas burials in the said churchyard were discontinued
by an Order in Council of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria dated
the eighth day of August eighteen hundred and fifty-three:
