An Act for enabling the Stockton and Darlington
Railway Company to make a new Railway and
other Works ; and for other Purposes.
[13th August 1859.]
HEREAS by " The Stockton and Darlington Railway Amal-
21 & 22
Vict.
gamation Act, 1858," the
Stockton
and Darlington, the Wear c- CXV1-
Valley, the
Middlesbrough
and
Redcar,
the
Middlesbrough
and
Guisbrougli,
and the Darlington and Barnard
Castle
Railway Companies
were amalgamated, the existing Acts relating to those Companies were
repealed, the Companies were dissolved, and
the-
Stockton and Darlington
Railway Company were re-incorporated, with the Addition to their own
Shareholders of the several Shareholders in the Four other Companies
respectively, and the several Undertakings of the Five Companies respec-
tively were vested as One Undertaking in the Company formed by the
Amalgamation, under the Name of the
Stockton
and
Darlington
Railway
Company: And whereas by "The Stockton and Darlington Railway
(Durham Line, &c) Act, 1858," and " The
Stockton
and Darlington
Railway (North Riding Lines) Act, 1858," further Powers were granted
21 &
22 Vict.
to the
Stockton
and
Darlington
Railway Company for the Construction of cc- ?.xv- and
Works and other Purposes: And whereas it is expedient that the
Stockton and Darlington Railway Company, in this Act called "the
