Sweden will extend its current COVID-19 pandemic curbs by another two weeks, as the Omicron variant is spreading at record speed, Reuters news agency reported on Wednesday.

Health Minister, Lena Hallengren, was quoted as telling a news conference: "We have an extremely high level of spread."

These curbs mean bars and restaurants will have to close at 23:00 hours and there is a cap of 500 people inside larger indoor venues.
