How well that works remains to be seen - no price or release date for the UK has yet been revealed. ROAM FOR FREE Virgin Mobile and partner O2 revealed this week that it's bucking the trend and not reintroducing roaming charges for customers travelling to the EU.

They will be able to use their phone plan's minutes, texts, and data at no extra charge if they hop across the Channel.

Roaming charges were dropped by EU nations in 2017, but the new trade deal with the EU that the UK government struck with its former partners after Brexit, left the door open for phone companies to re-introduce them.

Vodafone, EE, and Three have all said they will be bringing them back this year.
