The Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 51(6) of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 20001and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007 and come into force on 20th February 2007.

S-2 Amendment of the Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Regulations 2002

Amendment of the Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Regulations 2002

2.—(1) The Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Regulations 20022shall be amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 3(2) for “18”, substitute “30”.

(3) In regulation 7(2) for “one half of its membership is present”, substitute “7 members are present”.

These Regulations amend the Adults with Incapacity (Ethics Committee) (Scotland) Regulations 2002 (“the Principal Regulations”) which constitute the Ethics Committee referred to in section 51 of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.

Article 2 amends the Principal Regulations by increasing the size of the Ethics Committee to a maximum of 30 members. It also amends the quorum arrangements.
