The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22(2) and (3) of the Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) (Scotland) Act 20201.

S-1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) (Scotland) Act 2020 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 30 November 2020.

(2) In these Regulations “the Act” means the Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) (Scotland) Act 2020.

S-2 Appointed days

Appointed days

2.—(1) 30 November 2020 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the table in the schedule (the subject matter of which is specified in column 2 of that table).

(2) 1 February 2021 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 14(2) to (6) of the Act.

S-3 Transitional provision

3. The following sections of the Act apply only in relation to offences committed wholly on or after 30 November 2020—

(a) sections 1(2)(a) and (3), 7 to 12 and 14(7),

(b) section 3, so far as it inserts section 19(4A) and (4B) into the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 20062.
