The Common Organisation of the Markets in Agricultural Products (Marketing Standards and Organic Products) (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2021

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 89(a) and 227(4) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013of the European Parliament and Council establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products1and sections 38(5)(a) and 50(3) of the Agriculture Act 20202.
PART 1
Introductory
Citation, commencement and extent
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Common Organisation of the Markets in Agricultural Products (Marketing Standards and Organic Products) (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.
(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st January 2022.
(3) Part 3 extends to Great Britain only.
PART 2
Amendments to retained direct EU legislation
Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007
2.—(1) Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007on organic production and labelling of organic products3is amended as follows.
(2) In Article 33—
(a)
(a) in paragraph 1, for “1st January 2022” substitute ;
(b)
(b) in paragraph 2, for “1st January 2022” substitute .
Commission Regulation (EC) No 543/2008
3. In Commission Regulation (EC) No 543/2008laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007as regards the marketing standards for poultrymeat4, in Article 14, for “the period of 12 months beginning on the day on which IP completion day falls” substitute .
Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008
4.—(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008laying down detailed rules for implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007as regards the arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries5is amended as follows.
(2) In Article 13(1), for “1st January 2022” substitute .
(3) In Article 13b, for “1st January 2022” substitute .
(4) In Article 14(1), for “1st January 2022” substitute .

5.—(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1295/2008on the importation of hops from third countries6is amended as follows.

(2) In Article 14—

Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council
7.—(1) Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products8is amended as follows.
(2) In Article 77(4), for “1 January 2022”, in both places it occurs, substitute .
(3) In Article 190(2), for “1 January 2022” substitute .
