Abstract
Purpose –Current issues (such as health and economy-relat ed) emerged due to the impact of
COVID-19 on women’s and children’s health.The purpose of this opinion paper is to understand the
world’s health issuesafter COVID-19.
Design/methodology/approach –The authors study thedevastating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic
on the lives of women and children in 2023. The authors haveapplied the content analysis method and
reviewed the post-COVID-19impacts on women’s and children’s health. As a result of unemploymentor
financial instability, the fearof economic insecurity increases cases of women and child violence,child
labour and other health issues. According to the study, the authors find that post-COVID-19-related
healthissues increase at a high level.
Findings –After COVID-19,across the world, children and womenhave gone through domestic violence
and health issues (i.e. stress,anxiety and so on) and the vulnerable situation of children and women has
badly impactedtheir mental and physical health.
Originality/value –Many childrenwere orphaned, and the poor died due topoverty. COVID-19 has had
a direct or indirect effecton children and women all over the world till today. Thisopinion paper focuses
on post-COVID-19issues that we all have forgotten to includein our current discourse.

Introduction
People around the globe have gone through a difficult time with COVID-19. Across the
world, countries had announced and implemented many strict restrictions after the
lockdown rules for cities andlocalities following China’s Wuhan case. COVID-19 has hadan
abysmal impact on the world’s economy,education, employment, labour migrants, learning
and teaching system, social life, mental health, women, children’s lives and so on.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 impact still exists in 2023 and can be seen through various
health issues in post-COVID-19patients. This new normal pandemic time changed people’s
lifestyles for around two years.
Because of the scary viral COVID-19 infection, we all started to avoid face-to-face meeti ngs
and followed the virtual meetings and calls. Physical and social interaction were restricted and
rarely found out. This new normal life gives a new research direction to work on COVID-19-
related areas. Many scientists started to find out about the vaccine, and social scientists
worked on its impact on human life.
Women as a vulnerable group, it is significant to study women’s role during COVID-19 and
its impact on women’s lives. Meng et al. (2023) find in research that the COVID-19
pandemic and its social, economic, and health implications have generally reduced
