(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Protection (Anglers’ Lead Weights) (England) Regulations 2015.(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales but apply in England only.(3) They come into force on 1st July 2015.
  • In these Regulations—
    • (1) Subject to regulation 4, the supply of lead in the form of a lead weight for the purpose of weighting fishing lines is prohibited.(2) Unless the contrary is shown, a person supplying split shot is presumed to supply it for the purpose of weighting fishing lines.(3) A person who contravenes paragraph (1) commits an offence.
  • Regulation 3(1) does not prohibit the supply of a lead weight of 0.06 grams or less, or a lead weight of more than 28.35 grams.
    • (1) Paragraph (2) applies if section 85(2) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012
