THE GENERATIONAL DIVIDE
The UK already has and will continue to have an ageing population; with
numbers of old people rising as post second world war baby boomersage
in the face of birth rates that are less than those needed to replace the existing
population. This change in the population prole can be seen in Chart 1
below.
