The HGV Road User Levy (Exemption of Specified Roads) Order 2014

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(2) of the HGV Road User Levy Act 2013( 1).

A draft of this instrument has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, the House of Commons in accordance with section 3(3) of that Act.

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the HGV Road User Levy (Exemption of Specified Roads) Order 2014 and comes into force on 1st April 2014.

Exemption of Specified Roads

2. The HGV Road User Levy Act 2013 does not apply to the roads specified in the Schedule.

SCHEDULE

Regulation 2

Specified Roads

1. In England, the M6 Toll road.

2. In Northern Ireland-

(1) the A37; and

(2) the two sections of A3 to the west of Clones.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order specifies the roads to which the HGV Road User Levy does not apply.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. An Explanatory Memorandum has been prepared and is available alongside this instrument on the website, www.legislation.gov.uk.
